About me

Michelle Delisle is a contemporary artist based in Florida whose work is influenced by her urban upbringing in Toronto and the music-driven culture of the analog era. She holds a degree in Illustration from Sheridan College and brings a multidisciplinary background shaped by fine art, fashion, design, and gallery management to her evolving painting practice.

Before relocating to Florida, Michelle was a seasoned award winning entrepreneur. Always working in the creative field from product design to art gallery ownership. Experiences that continue to inform the visual language, attitude, and emotional atmosphere of her work. Deeply inspired by the new wave movement, underground club scenes, nightlife, fashion, and the emotional freedom of the 1980s and 1990s, her paintings explore memory, identity, music culture, and the psychological imprint of youth. Balancing raw emotional energy with refined composition, Delisle’s paintings merge contemporary figurative painting with influences from music history, street culture, fashion imagery, and expressionist abstraction. While rooted in nostalgia, the work speaks to broader themes of authenticity, self-expression, transformation, and the lasting emotional resonance of cultural experience.

In addition to her studio practice, Delisle is actively involved in the arts community. She serves on the board of the Ormond Memorial Art Museum & Gardens and is Vice President of the Florida Women's Arts Association, supporting initiatives that foster artistic engagement, education, and cultural growth.
